Creative Lead.

We’re searching for an experienced Creative Lead to oversee project creative execution, including managing freelancers and feedback rounds for copy, design, and photo/video. Candidates should be able to bring on-brand, creative ideas that think outside of the traditional, expected, low hanging fruit and should be familiar with executing strategy into creative direction and facilitating teams to do so, while also ready to step in and create their own copy and graphics for mockups, proposals, social content, and other collateral for our brand where needed. This position should have experience and interest in building their strategy skills and participating (or potentially leading) strategy sessions. Part time/contract to start with the opportunity to move into full time for the right candidate.

Candidates should be familiar with the full branding process from conceptual design to creation of logos, brand guidelines, consumer packaging, signage, social graphics, etc. Reports to the Founder/Head of Strategy.

Tasks include: 

  • Ownership of creative projects, processes, and people within the agency.

  • Ownership of the Young & Co brand - managing brand assets and guidelines, and ensuring proper use of graphics, TOV, imagery, video, etc. for our own marketing and brand collateral.

  • Experience translating brand strategy and creative briefs into visual design, copy, imagery, and other brand applications.

  • Experience working with printing companies and product/shipping box packaging production - including industry lead times and fluctuations, how material selection impacts design, coordinating design schedules around proofs, what to look for in a vendor, and mitigating any issues that arise within the process.

  • Communication with creative team (copywriter, art director/graphic designer, web designer, photographers, illustrators) for direction and clarification on creative strategy via Slack, email and Zoom

  • Feedback rounds and approval with copy, graphics, shot lists, storyboards and web design

  • Ensuring feedback from clients is applied to creative rounds.

  • Strong command of Adobe Suite and industry-wide programs.

  • Sourcing, hiring and managing freelance creative talent pool - checking portfolios, process rounds, etc.

  • Correspondence and presentation with clients for feedback and deliverables.

  • Assistance designing, managing and co-pitching new proposals and collateral to win new business.

Qualifications: 

  • Team-player attitude - you are collaborative by nature, open to other’s ideas and input, and know how to check your ego at the door. There’s a reason this is first!

  • Challenger mindset - at the same time, you’re always striving for better and willing to offer up a different opinion in the name of exploring all options and finding the best route.

  • Visual design knowledge - Understanding of the combination and use of color, shapes, imagery and typography, and how they impact consumer behavior - as well as a familiarity with fine arts and history of our industry to pull inspiration where needed.

  • Branding experience - Understanding of brand positioning, tone of voice, archetypes, and how it impacts creative strategy.

  • College degree or work experience equivalent required.

  • Familiarity with creative process, branding terminology, and agency cadence is required.

  • Previous experience in copywriting, or art direction for an agency is preferred.

  • Experience with video and social content creation is a plus.

Pay Rate: $75- $95 per hour

*This is an at-will, contract position with a 90 day trial period. Opportunity for salaried position available after a trial period (for the right candidate).
